Remove Red Wine From White Carpet

Picture this: you just got off from a long day at work and can’t wait to get home to relax. As you arrive to your house, you decide to watch one of your all-time favorite movies. What better way to enjoy yourself than to top your night off with a glass of red wine? You begin pouring it into one of your favorite glasses and accidentally spill the wine onto your brand new white carpet. Uh-oh!

First and foremost, don’t freak out but don’t just sit there either! Obtain a clean white cloth (paper towel or a regular white towel will do) and begin to blot the stain. Do not rub it because not only will it ruin the carpet fibers but it will smear the red wine red_wineall over.

In addition to blotting, salt the spill and let it sit for about ten minutes before vacuuming it up. Can’t find any salt around the house? Baking soda can substitute and will work perfectly on the carpet.

If you don’t want to use salt or baking soda, plain club soda is a great home remedy. What you need to do is apply the club soda to the red wine stain. Then, begin blotting it with a clean white cloth. Grab a bowl and dilute it with a small amount of dish soap and luke-warm water. Once both (the water and soap) are mixed well, dab the stain with the cloth. Your red wine spill will be gone in no time!
